Eagle's Nest Canadian Bistro
About This Spot
Perched within the cozy embrace of Banff Sunshine Village, Eagle’s Nest Canadian Bistro invites you to slow down and savor moments that feel quietly elevated — a place where mountain air and warm hearths conjure an atmosphere both refined and approachable. From the moment you step inside, there’s a calm rhythm to the space, shaped by the gentle crackle of a fireplace and the soft murmur of conversation, offering a welcoming pause from the energetic pace outside.
This bistro carries the quiet pride of a mountain refuge, where thoughtful service blends seamlessly with surroundings that encourage connection—whether that’s lingering over shared plates or simply watching the snowfall through large windows. The experience is marked by a relaxed attentiveness; servers move with care and warmth, enhancing your visit with touches that might surprise you, such as a spirited preparation of a classic dessert right at your table.
On the plate, the food feels like a celebration of the region itself—generous, hearty, and carefully considered. Whether you're enjoying a richly flavored cut of local bison or a smoky salmon dish, the offerings invite you to embrace something sustaining and authentically Canadian, without the rush. And while the dishes hold their own quiet distinction, it’s the way they harmonize with the drinks menu—think thoughtfully curated wines, robust cocktails, or a comforting hot chocolate—that completes the overall sense of ease.
What truly makes Eagle’s Nest stand out isn’t just the food or the setting, but the feeling that someone has prepared this space for moments—big, small, shared, and personal. It’s a spot where you can feel the welcome of a genuine local experience, whether you’re arriving after a morning on the slopes, settling in for a long mountain evening, or simply looking for a place to feel at home amid the alpine hush.

Awesome food and great choice of wines and cocktails. Order the Bison 32oz Sharer!

The experience overall with Banff Sunshine Village was amazing, but I want to give a special shout-out to Ben Smith, the server at the hotel restaurant, Eagle's Nest Canadian Bistro. Ben went above and beyond and deserves the highest recognition for his attitude and service. The meals were really delicious (Fondue, Bison Shank, the Vegan Wellington, and the Salmon), as well as the drinks (Old Fashioned was my favorite), and desserts (I recommend the Lemon Tart [and I don't even like lemon tarts]).

Eagle's Nest is the upscale dining option in the lodge. We were served by Henry who made a show with heating up the Cherry Jubilee. He even made the fire alarm go off. Food was great. I do not understand why the rating is so poor

As a professional ski instructor with the csia I take advantage to have breakfast in the Eagle's Nest whenever possible the crates are amazing in the hot chocolate is very tasty, And the service here is great. And the fireplace is toasty warm with a comfortable couch to enjoy eating your crepe.

I arrived to the Mountain Lodge after a long travel day and decided to dine at the Eagle’s Nest mid-evening. I ordered and was overwhelmed with the Bison Osso Bucco, primarily because the dish was larger than I expected. However, the meal was delicious and I finished the last bite. Traveling solo, I felt slightly out of place, but enjoyed people watching (even though there were but a few tables seated). This was my single meal at The Eagle’s Nest and I would recommend it.

Nice restaurant on the 2nd floor of the Lodge. Spacious with nice views, with good quality food. But its more a lounge than a family restaurant.. with live music and overpriced food. I get that its on the mountain etc... but still ... Its a lovely place to enjoy small meal or apps with glass of wine. Staff is new but eager. Wings are small but very good. Good wine list.
